swissTAMP – Track Analysis & Maintenance Planning as one additional part of an Pro-active Asset Management

For SBB, swissTAMP is one key component in building a proactive asset management and the efficient and effective planning of systematic track maintenance. By linking data from various systems in the SBB IT network, information on the behavior of assets can be displayed clearly and the necessary maintenance measures identified. This enables maintenance and renewal measures to be planned in an objectively traceable, needs-driven manner, making them optimally cost-effective for several years to come in terms of time, place and funding.

The launch of swissTAMP represents a significant milestone in the transition from reactive (find and fix) to proactive (predict and prevent) maintenance planning. Asset management SBB focuses not only on linking and displaying measurement and diagnostic data, but also combines these with real-time and planned operating data and specific wear-and-tear functions from the vehicle-track-interaction. This pioneering approach opens up new opportunities for designing a future-oriented asset management.
