Wiener Linien is a local public transport operator responsible for the underground, trams and buses in the city of Vienna, Austria. Its role is to implement the transport policies of the city and to maintain, manage and operate public transport services across Vienna.

As an infrastructure provider we use analytical tools to evaluate our infrastructure. One of these tools is our infrastructure database – a web application used to determine crucial information required for our asset management. This database is filled with track data including geometry, loads, construction year, wear and much more information relevant to us as an infrastructure provider. After implementing a calculation model for the tram network we get an overview of our long-term financial requirements and the necessary asset strategies.
