Intelligent Rail Summit 2023 6-7 November

Intelligent Rail Summit 2023

The Intelligent Rail Summit is back and will be held in the capital of Poland, Warsaw. Poland is home to one of the most exciting new infrastructure project in Europe, namely the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK). Centred around a major new airport, the CPK endeavour also calls for the construction of 2,000 kilometres of new railway lines, mainly high-speed lines.

These new high speed lines might extend into the Czech Republic, where major plans are afoot, as well as into the Baltic States via the Rail Baltica Project. All this makes Central Europe a key area for compelling new rail developments. It also opens up doors for wayside train monitoring solutions and other monitoring equipment.

Finally, this November we will also discuss the importance of condition monitoring of rail infrastructure in light of Poland’s strategic location in Central Europe. Sharing some 300 kilometres of border with war-torn Ukraine, Poland and the Polish railways have been instrumental in keeping Ukraine on its feet, and it is vital they keep functioning. Hence the importance of timely maintenance and repairs.

The situation in neighbouring Ukraine has also highlighted the importance of international cooperation, and Poland has launched several initiatives for the improvement of connections with Germany and the Czech Republic.
