Presentation title:
swissTAMP – From hands-on experience to facts and predictive maintenance

Summary:
The network of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) is currently performing the change from hands-on experience to facts and predictive maintenance. swissTAMP is an application that assists its users to make decisions based on facts and predictive maintenance for railroad track. It also allows the user to look more closely at the asset instead of the measure. Thus, swissTAMP helps answering the question of the assets current state. To make such statements, appropriate data quality and an appropriate data model is necessary. Based on these data, it is possible to perform relevant forecast calculations for tamping and rail contact fatigue. This information will be made available in swissTAMP to the operational asset managers for their daily work. With the help of predictive maintenance information in swissTAMP, the asset manager will order appropriate measures at the right time. This helps to lower the cost for the maintenance of the rail track and prolong its life cycle in the long term.
